Musical Gravity & William Herschel

William Herschel (1738-1822) is best remembered today for his work in astronomy (including building a giant telescope and discovering the planet Uranus) but he was also an accomplished professional musician. For this SE Spotlight, we talk with scholar Sarah Waltz about how Herschel’s views on science and music may have overlapped and sample some of his musical compositions.
